The 37% of the Italian soil is in high seismic risk areas, involving regions such as: Campania, Sicilia, Calabria, Lazio, Marche, Emilia Romagna and others.
In both the analysis performed for the draft of the 2012 report “Ance-Cresme” and the 2016 report “Casa Italia”, 5.5 million buildings have been judged at risk, involving 21.8 million people. Also 22,800 warehouses have been judged in the same condition, forming not only a possible risk from the point of view of the infrastructures, but especially from an economic one.
The other main problem is that almost the 50% of the structures involved in the earthquake are condemned after the event, sometimes even if designed properly.
All these factors can be translated in a total cost for the seismic protection of whole Italy from a minimum of 36 billion to 850 billion euros (“L’Italia antisismica costa fino a 850 miliardi (22nd August 2017)” of the newspaper “Il Sole 24 Ore – Edilizia e Territorio”).
ISAAC s.r.l. believes that the only way to solve this problem is to exploit innovative technologies for the seismic protection of structures. For this reason, we not only offer an innovative solution from all points of views, but we promote the spread of prevention policy throughout Italy, because: “every Euro invested in prevention, means seven Euros saved in reconstruction”
